2017 Outbreak of Vibrio Parahaemolyticus Linked to Samish Bay Oysters, Washington State
In August 2017 eight people became ill after eating raw oysters grown in Samish Bay, Washington. Meal dates ranged from August 2, 2017 and August 14, 2017 and occurred at different restaurants in Seattle, Redmond, and Bow, Washington. Six people were laboratory confirmed with Vibrio parahaemolyticus. Two people were classified as probable cases. One person was hospitalized. No one died.
