2018-2019 Multistate Outbreak of Salmonella Paratyphi B Infections Linked to Frozen Tuna
Public health investigators in six states (Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee) and their federal partners at the CDC and FDA investigated an outbreak of Salmonella Paratyphi B infections linked to consumption of raw tuna. Three people were hospitalized. No one died. A total of 12 outbreak associated cases were identified. Illness onset dates ranged from October 28, 2018 to January 09, 2019.
The outbreak was assigned CDC Cluster Code 1812MLJKX-1.
