2018 Multistate Outbreak of Cyclosporiasis Linked to Del Monte Fresh Produce Vegetable Trays
In June 2018 he CDC, public health and regulatory officials in several states, and the US Food and Drug Administration announced an outbreak of Cyclospora infections in people who consumed Del Monte Fresh Produce vegetable trays containing broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and dill dip. As of September 5, 2018 CDC had been notified of 250 laboratory-confirmed cases of cyclosporiasis reported from 4 states. Eight people had been hospitalized. There were no deaths. Illnesses started on dates ranging from May 14, 2018 to June 20, 2018. On June 15, 2018 Del Monte Fresh Produce recalled 6 oz., 12 oz., and 28 oz. vegetable trays.
On September 5, 2018 the CDC declared the outbreak over.
