In April 2018 Snohomish Health District staff investigated an outbreak of gastrointestinal illnesses linked to consumption of spicy, raw oysters purchased at a grocery store. Five outbreak associated cases were identified. No one was hospitalized and no one died. In addition to a contaminated product (oysters), investigators found evidence of cross contamination of ingredients and storage in a contaminated environment.
