2018 Outbreak of Norovirus at Five Crowns Restaurant Linked to Oysters, California

In March 2018 Orange County, California public health officials investigated an outbreak of norovirus linked to consumption of raw oysters served at Five Crowns Restaurant located in Corona Del Mar. Twenty seven outbreak case patients were identified. Five were laboratory confirmed with norovirus One person was hospitalized. No one died. Exposure dates ranged from March 30, 2018 to April 7, 2018. Product traceback identified the oysters as being Paradise Oysters grown in Southern Baynes Sound in British Columbia.
