2018 Outbreak of Norovirus at the Hub at Gig Harbor Restaurant, Washington

Tacoma Pierce County Health Department (TPCHD) investigated an outbreak of suspected norovirus among people who attended a special event at The Hub at Gig Harbor Restaurant located in Gig Harbor. The event was held July 26, 2018. The first reports of illnesses came from individuals residing in four different households. As of August 7, 2018 TPCHD had reports of 12 ill people. Two employees said they were ill with norovirus-like symptoms around the time customers were exposed. On August 6 the restaurant was closed for a thorough cleaning and reopened on August 7.
