In February 2018 Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment (WCPHE) announced an outbreak of Salmonella infections about customers of Burrito Delight. The restaurant voluntarily closed both of its locations in Fort Lupton and Dacono. As of March 8, 2018, 37 persons had been laboratory confirmed with Salmonella. Meal dates ranged between February 9 and 12. Some of the illnesses were linked to two events at Aims Community College held on February 9 and February 13. The events were catered by Burrito Delight.

The restaurant failed a health inspection in the following areas: temperature control, appropriate storage of employee drinks, one instance of improper hand washing, and the presence of rodents.
