2019-2020 Multistate Outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium Infections Linked to Ground Beef
Local, state and federal public health and agriculture officials investigated a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium infections associated with ground beef. Dates of illness onset ranged from July 13, 2019 to February 14, 2020. Forty-eight outbreak associated cases were identified. Thirteen people were hospitalized. No one died.
FSIS conducted traceback of 2 ground beef purchases from patients in Maine and Minnesota.
The outbreak was assigned CDC Cluster ID 1912MLJPX-1.
