Federal, state and local public health officials investigated a multistate outbreak of cyclospora illnesses linked to fresh basil exported by Siga Logistics de RL de CV located in Morelos, Mexico. On September 30, 2019 investigators declared the outbreak over. There were 241 laboratory confirmed cases reported by 11 states. Illnesses started on dates ranging from June 10, 2019 to July 26, 2019. Six people were hospitalized.No one died. Exposures occurred at restaurants in five states: Florida, Minnesota, New York, Ohio and Wisconsin. Siga Logistics issued a voluntary recall of basil on July 24, 2019.
