2019 Outbreak of Hepatitis A at Mendham Golf & Tennis Club, New Jersey
Public health officials in New Jersey investigated an outbreak of hepatitis A infections linked to an infected food handler at the Mendham Golf & Tennis Club (MGTC). Health officials believed 22 people had contracted the virus. One person died. MGTC first notified their membership on July 5, 2019 of the potential risk to those who dined at the club. Patrons who dined at the club between June 9 and June 30, 2019 were advised to contact their health care provider if they had symptoms or concerns.
