In February 2019 the Tacoma Pierce County Health Department (TPCHD) investigated an outbreak of norovirus among patrons and employees at California Tacos, a restaurant located at 14818 Union Avenue SW in Lakewood, Washington. Eighteen customers reported symptoms consistent with norovirus after eating at California Tacos. Meal dates ranged from February 21 to February 24. One customer was laboratory confirmed with norovirus. Four employees were confirmed with norovirus. Two employees were ill between Feb. 20 and Feb. 23. TPCHD concluded that these ill employees were the cause of the outbreak.
