2019 Outbreak of Trichinellosis Associated with Bear Meat, Oregon
In August 2019, four people were diagnosed with Trichinella infections after consuming ground bear meat. Three people with hospitalized. No one died.
Four samples of leftover bear meat were tested, and Trichinella murrelli larvae were detected in all four samples.
