2021 Multistate Outbreak of E. coli O145 Infections Associated with Chopped Romaine
In March 2021, local, state and federal officials investigated an outbreak of Shiga Toxin E. coli (STEC) O145 infections associated with consumption of chopped romaine lettuce. Sixteen people were ill. Eight people were hospitalized. No one died.
