2021 Multistate Outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis Infections Linked to Baby Chicks and Ducklings
In April 2021, local, state and federal public health officials investigated a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis infections associated with contact with backyard chicks and ducklings. Forty-three people were ill. Ten people were hospitalized. No one died.
