2021 Outbreak of Bacillus cereus Infections Associated with Potatoes, Maryland
In August 2021, public health officials investigated an outbreak of Bacillus cereus infections at a prison. The implicated vehicle of transmission was mashed potatoes. Twenty-two people were ill. No one was hospitalized and no one died.
