In July 2021, public health officials in Virginia investigated an outbreak of Clostridium infections associated with a restaurant. The implicated vehicles of transmission were reported as "chicken curry, beef curry, nihari, rice, and salad." Twenty-three people were ill. One person was hospitalized. No one died.
