2021 Outbreak of E. coli O111:H8 Infections Associated with Animal Contact, Minnesota
In September 2021, Minnesota public health officials investigated an outbreak of Shiga toxin E. coli (STEC) O111:H8 infections associated with contact with a dog and cattle. Two people were ill. No one was hospitalized and no one died. The setting was described as "farm/dairy; zoo or animal exhibit."
