2023 Outbreak of Cryptosporidiosis Associated with a Petting Zoo, Michigan
In April 2023, public health officials in Michigan investigated an outbreak of Cryptosporidium parvum infections associated with a petting zoo. Thirty-six people were ill. One person was hospitalized. No one died.
Donkeys, goats and sheep were reported as the animals at the petting zoo.
