2023 Outbreak of Illnesses Associated with a Catered Meal, Illinois

In April 2023, public health officials in Illinois investigated an outbreak of illnesses associated with a catered event. The suspected etiology was Bacillus cereus or Clostridium perfringens. Fifty-seven people were ill. No one was hospitalized and no one died. The implicated vehicle of transmission was pulled pork.
