2023 Outbreak of Legionnaires Disease Associated with Drinking Water from a Private Well, Maryland

In July 2023, public health officials in Maryland investigated a waterborne outbreak of Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 associated with drinking water from a private well at a multi-unit housing residence. Two people were ill. One person was hospitalized. One person died.
