2023 Outbreak of Legionnaires Disease at a Correctional Facility, Louisiana
In January 2023, public health officials in Louisiana investigated a waterborne outbreak of Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 infections associated with a correctional/detention facility. Three people were ill. All three were hospitalized. One person died. The implicated source was drinking water.
