2023 Outbreak of Legionnaires Disease at a Long-term Care Facility, Iowa
In August 2023, public health officials in Iowa investigated a waterborne outbreak of Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 associated with drinking water at a long-term care/nursing home/assisted living facility. Three people were ill. All three were hospitalized. Two died.
