2023 Outbreak of Salmonella Berta Infections, Washington

On July 10, 2023, Public Health Seattle King County (PHSKC) announced an investigation of an outbreak of Salmonella Berta infections in county residents. As of July 10, six cases had been reported. Two had been hospitalized. Dates of illness onset ranged from April 12, 2023 through June 5, 2023. Most people who were interviewed reported eating a variety of pork cuts cooked at home and different types of seafood. The investigation is ongoing.
