2023 Outbreak of Salmonella Newport Infections Associated with a Tomatoes and Lettuce, Illinois
In August 2023, public health officials in Illinois investigated an outbreak of Salmonella Newport infections associated with lettuce and tomatoes served at restaurants. One hundred nine people were ill. Twenty-five people were hospitalized. No one died.
