2023 Outbreak of Salmonellosis Associated with Washington Care Center, Seattle, Washington

Thirty cases of Salmonella Enteritidis occurred among residents at Washington Care Center, a long-term care facility located in Seattle. Four people were hospitalized. No one died. Dates of illness onset ranged from July 1, 2023 to July 5, 2023. No ill food workers were identified.

The facility is typically not open to the general public. Based on the investigation, public health officials determined the outbreak was likely due to contaminated food served at the facility.
