2023 Outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 Infections Associated with Miguel's Cocina, San Diego, California
The County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) announced an outbreak of Shiga Toxin E. coli (STEC) infections linked to dining at Miguel's Cocina location in San Diego. Forty-four cases were detected. Ten cases were hospitalized. One person died. At least one case developed hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS).
Guacamole was reported as the vehicle of transmission.
