In 2024, public health officials in Canada investigated a multi-province outbreak of salmonellosis associated with Sweet Cream brand Mini Patisserie pastries. As of January 29, 2025, sixty-nine outbreak associated cases had been detected. There were 22 hospitalizations. No one died. Cases lived in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, and New Brunswick. People became sick between late September 2024 and early January 2025.

On January 18, 2025, Sweet Cream issued a recall of mini pastries. Products were distributed to locations such as bakeries, hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals, and retirement residences. The recalled products were also served at catered events.
