2024 Outbreak of Gastrointestinal Illness Associated with Kobuta & Ookami Katsu & Sake, Washington
In December 2024, two people became il with gastrointestinal illness after eating at Kobuta & Ookami Katsu & Sake located in Redmond, Washington. The implicated meal date was December 22. No one was hospitalized and no one died.
Both people had one or more signs of a bacterial infection, including feeling sick, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and chills, but there could have been a different cause.
Public Health Seattle King County (PHSKC) investigators did not find any sick restaurant workers. They did not identify a specific food or drink item that could have caused illnesses.
