2024 Outbreak of Norovirus Among Hikers on a Kaua'i Trail, Hawaii

In September 2024, the Kalalau Section of the Napali Coast State Wilderness Park on Kaua'i was closed due to a norovirus outbreak. The Hawaii Department of Health received reports of acute gastrointestinal illness from 24 people who had hiked the Kalalau Trail since August 14. One person was evacuated but no one was hospitalized.
