About 50 students and adult chaperones were treated for apparent food poisoning at the Excela Health Frick Hospital in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania. The ill reported nausea; some required intravenous fluids for rehydration. The ill were part of a group of 140 people from De Soto High School, De Soto, Kansas, who were returning from New York City after participating in a program called "Broadway Classroom." The band's itinerary included a stop for dinner in New York City.
