2009 Outbreak of Norovirus at Buzzard's Pizza Restaurant, Kansas

An outbreak of Norovirus occurred among a group of people who had eaten at the Buzzard's Pizza Restaurant, Pomona, Kansas, on June 20. A variety of pizzas and soft drinks were consumed. Several had eaten a birthday cake that had been prepared outside of the restaurant. No specific food item was statistically associated with illness. Norovirus was isolated from the seven individuals who submitted stool samples. Although these individuals reported no other common exposures, the illnesses could not be conclusively linked to the shared restaurant meal.
