2006 Outbreak of Salmonellosis at Cafe Barbette, Minnesota
A Minneapolis restaurant was associated with an outbreak of Salmonella. The city health department's conclusion about the cause of the outbreak was not specifically stated. The restaurant believed that it was isolated to a batch of chilled soup. The cooler may not have chilled it enough, and a new refrigerator was purchased. Earlier in the year, upon inspection, the restaurant was found to have five critical food handling violations. Among the violations was a cooler that was too hot, and an ice machine that needed cleaning.
