1988 Outbreak of Yersiniosis Linked to Chitterlings, Georgia
Chitterlings were identified as the cause of an outbreak of Yersinia enterocolitica O:3 that occurred between Thanksgiving and New Year's day. Chitterlings are pork intestines and are a traditional holiday food in some families.
