People who ate food prepared by the Druxy's Famous Deli Sandwiches, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, on December 14 and 15 developed gastroenteritis. Many of the ill had eaten the food during a catered corporate event on December 14. Subsequent illnesses from other catered events have been discovered. Public health investigators closed the restaurant on December 16 after discovering two ill food workers on the premises; they also discovered that the restaurant had no hot water for hand washing. A viral cause was suspected as of December 18.
