An outbreak of gastroenteritis in Elkhart County, Indiana, during early December was linked to exposure to food at a local restaurant. Stool samples from case-patients tested positive for Norovirus. The restaurant was investigated and found to have improper holding temperatures, poor sanitation of trays, ill food workers, and lack of adequate hand washing and glove wearing. The investigation revealed the only common exposure of the case-patients was dining at the restaurant on December 10, 2006. No food item was identified as the source.
