2003 Outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 at the Fort Bend County Fair, Texas
An outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 occurred among livestock exhibitors and visitors to the Fort Bend County Fair, in Rosenburg, Texas. Environmental sampling and culture isolated multiple strains of E. coli O157:H7, including the outbreak strain. Both the rodeo and animal exhibit area were contaminated. Illness was not associated with food or beverages.
