Low chlorine levels contributed to an outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 infections at the White Water water park, in Cobb County, Georgia. This large park drew visitors from many states. Case-patients had used the park's facilities over several days in mid-June. In the official outbreak report, Georgia public health officials noted that the water park had a history of failing routine chlorine checks conducted by county health inspectors.
