1983 Outbreak of Campylobacteriosis Linked to Goat Raw Milk, Washington
Unpasteurized, raw, goat milk was associated with an outbreak of Campylobacter jejuni infections in King County, Washington. The milk was produced by a single dairy. Four ill persons had drunk the milk. The other two illnesses were a dairy worker and her infant. Campylobacter jejuni was isolated from the dairy goats. Lior serotype 36 was the strain detected in the stools of the case-patients and from two of three specimens from the goats.
