A King County, Washington child consumed raw goat and cow milk from Grace Harbor Farm and, subsequently, developed an E. coli O157:H7 infection. Within a few days, a child in Snohomish County, Washington, also developed E. coli O157:H7; the family reported drinking raw milk produced by Grace Harbor Farm. State investigators tested milk from the farm and found goat milk contaminated with E. coli O157:H7 that was a close genetic match to the outbreak strain. Grace Harbor Farm products were sold in assorted health food stores, including PCC Natural Markets and Whole Food Market. Grace Harbor Farm was a licensed raw milk producer.
