An outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 was linked to the consumption of raw milk produced by Jackie's Jersey Milk, a dairy in Whatcom County, Washington. Tests of the dairy's milk by the State Department of Agriculture, in May, failed to find E. coli in the milk. However, in February, the dairy issued a product recall notice after the Washington State Department of Agriculture, during routine milk sampling, found E. coli in the milk. Soon after the February recall, six E. coli cases were linked to the milk. In May, two additional cases were identified. The milk had been purchased through retail stores in King, Snohomish, and Skagit counties.
