2005 Outbreak of Ciguatoxin Poisoning Linked to Grouper, Illinois
A Kane county restaurant served six people grouper that contained ciguatoxin. One of the six required hospitalization. A traceback investigation failed to find the source of the fish. Reef fish commonly are sources of ciguatoxin poisoning.
