Students from a private school visited a fastfood restaurant for lunch in late December. Over thirty of the diners contracted a Norovirus infection that was linked to this meal. An investigation at the restaurant found that an ill foodhandler had symptoms of Norovirus ten days prior to preparing the cheeseburgers served to the school. This case highlights the need to keep ill employees away from food handling until the virus can no longer be transmitted.
