Two persons developed Salmonellosis after eating Milford Valley Farms Chicken Cordon Bleu or Chicken Buffalo Style, produced by Serenade Foods, of Milford, Illinois. An indistinguishable strain of Salmonella Enteritidis was found in the food and from the stool of the case patients. While no recall was issued, the public was warned to avoid preparing these products in microwave ovens where they may not be cooked thoroughly. At least one of the ill persons had heated the chicken in the microwave.
