1997 Outbreak of Salmonella Newport Linked to Chicken Pasta Salas, Minnesota
An outbreak of Salmonella Newport occurred among patrons of a Minnesota restaurant. Chicken Pasta Salad was the suspected vehicle in the outbreak. The investigation revealed that four food workers were found to be infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Newport. At least one of the food workers reportedly had been ill prior to the outbreak involving the patrons.
