An outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium occurred at a Minnesota restaurant. Salad was listed as the vehicle of infection. An investigation found that 16 food workers were infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Typhimurium. Illness onsets among the food workers preceded illness onsets among the patrons.
