2003 Outbreak of Salmonellosis at a Restaurant, Florida
Salmonella related illnesses were linked to eating at a restaurant in Florida. Illness occurred in three clusters spaced one week apart. Sandwiches were the implicated vehicle in this outbreak. They were made with cut pork meat mixed with chopped onions on bread and squirted with "mojo" and salt. The 'mojo" was a spice blend mixed with fruit juices and was a commercially available product. No evidence of Salmonella contamination was confirmed in the food or the food workers.
