1984 Outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 at a Nursing Home, Georgia
An outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 infections occurred among residents of a nursing home. Eating hamburger served on September 13 at the nursing home was associated with a risk of illness. Anti-diarrheal agents may have increased the risk of morbidity and mortality. At least half of the case-patients had a hemorrhagic colitis.
