2010 Outbreak of Salmonella Paratyphi B, Oklahoma
In September 2010 an outbreak of Salmonella Paratyphi B var. Java was identified in Canadian County, Oklahoma. Fourteen cases were identified. Cases were children who attended the following schools in the Mustang School District: Centennial, Lakehoma, Mustang Valley Elementary School, and the Pre-Kindergarten School. In addition, three people from outside Canadian county were confirmed to be infected with the same strain of Salmonella bacteria. These cases included a child from Carter County and two adults from Oklahoma City.
