1991 Outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium Linked to Contact with Reptiles, Washington
A confirmed outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium was linked to having contact with reptiles on display for handling at the Pacific Science Center, Seattle, Washington. After the environment was cleaned, hand-washing facilities installed, and handling of the reptiles by children prohibited, no further event associated Salmonella cases were detected.
