2011 Multistate Outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 Infections Linked to Palmyra Brand Bologna
In 2011 public health officials investigated an outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 infections linked to consumption of bologna manufactured by the Palmyra Bologna Company. Fourteen ill persons were reported by five states: Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Illnesses started on dates ranging from January 10, 2011 to February 15, 2011. Three people were hospitalized. No deaths were reported.
